Catch Up

Project updates? Not yet…but I’ve been dabbling. In the meantime, here are a few pictures I’ve taken over the past month or so.

lilyanimalsMy wonderful daughter, Lily, wanted me to put ALL of her animal friends around her before she went to bed one night. She told me she wanted me to do this every night. Not gonna happen, babe. (I did it for 2 nights in a row and then I told her that the animals really didn’t like it when they fell off the bed in the middle of the night. They got cold and scared.) Since then, she only sleeps with about.. ohhh… 14 of them. Hah.

sunshinecabinetHere’s a section of my oh-so-loved purple cabinet full of random college text books and knickedy-knacks. Gotta love that fork. That’s a jewelry project gone bad. lol

I’m not sure what the silver thing is. I thought it was a napkin holder but it’s not tall enough to hold them. It has clips on the bottom sides. WTF is it?!

felixsplinterFelix! And Master Splinter! Oh, and fantastical books! And a stack of saucers that I still have no clue what to do with. I’m hoping the little guy perched on top of them will come up with some ideas. I think he’s annoyed with me by now.

cabinetcleanoutThis was after I cleaned out all the books and decided to move my craft stuff into the cabinet. What a nightmare! No matter how many times I looked at that AWESOME sign, the task still didn’t feel that way. Everything is in there now but I need some serious help organizing it.

BTW, notice how Paddington doesn’t seem so sure of the friend above him? That gargoyle is a scary guy.

lily6cakecandleLily turned 6 in June! She loves strawberries and chocolate so I made everyone’s favourite cake, which I will link you to here because you should DEFINITELY make this. Trust me.

lily6cakeHere’s a too dark close-up of the I-was-running-out-of-time sweet goodness. Mmmmmm strawberries.

6bdayandgraceHappy happy kids on Lily’s birthday with one of her best friends. Lily is always silly.

lilyfacekidsJust the three of them. I really wanted her to just smile. No such luck. lol

facedownmietteThis is our cat, Miette. Sometimes she likes to sleep on her face. Here’s proof.

sethlilytapedMy kids are hilarious and also creepy. One night they asked me if I’d tape them to the floor with duct tape and then take pictures so they could see. My first response was “I can’t do that! I especially can’t take pictures of it and I especially can’t post them online because someone’s gonna think I’m a terrible terrible mother.” Then I remembered the painters tape. lol

sethlilytapedjakeMy oldest couldn’t be taped down. He’s too wild and crazy to be contained. (Oh, my sanity.) I tried to video them busting out of it afterwards but the video failed to save correctly. Darn.

sethpopsiclejakePopsicles and blank stares. I love this picture. I love my boys (when they’re not fighting.)

thesegiftsShe asked me to read this little note to her while I was outside working on a project and since I had the camera, I got artsy with the photo. (I’m not a photographer. Can you tell? lol) The note is from the beautiful book Fairyopolis: A Flower Fairy Journal.

angledcoffeetabletopThis is the top of my coffee table. I love it. It took me forever to decide what to do with it after I posted about it here. I will eventually post the update. I promise.

kitchentableI still have to work on the top part of my kitchen table but I’ll be posting about it as soon as it’s finished because I am in LOVE LOVE LOVE with the way it’s turning out!

windowsAnd lastly, the view from my living room windows. Miles of trees. I like to sit and stare out the window while I think about everything and make mental lists that I later forget. I just caught myself staring out the window again and forgot the clever line I was going to use to wrap up this post. Thank you, magical memory loss trees.
